I had just returned back to Canada this January from a very warm country and I was living in my mother's condo by the river. I was so incredibly cold and did not have the heart nor the right jacket to go traipsing to the Co-Op around 8 blocks away for my groceries.
So I found Kay's grocery store a couple of blocks away to get staples. Imagine my surprise when I found a very eclectic produce and cheese area. There was even tofu and blocks of feta cheese, and the prices were comparable to Safeway and to the Co-Op.
This is a small grocery store supporting the many local condominium residents so to keep up to par with young working class food standards; they house a variety of options, good bread options, tortillas, and even many Tai and curry sauces for cooking. The staff there is few but they are extremely friendly and helpful and stock seems to be replenished daily.
I was very pleased to discover Kay's and not so frost bitten.
