| - I've tried very few Japanese Italian fusion restaurants, but the result seems to be always good. Never is the pasta cooked past al dente and that is really important to me. Also, I really wanted to try the uni tomato cream pasta. Wow, the yelp pics had me salivating!
Uni tomato cream pasta- Delicious and def had the uni taste. Almost too rich though. The sauce was so thick, it was almost like melted velveeta. 7.75/10
Squid Ink pasta- Very garlicky and oniony. I thought it was cute how it left the black ring around everyone's mouth. I actually liked this better than the uni! 8/10
Mushroom Meat Pasta- Sorry, I forget the name right now. Kinoko? It was on the happy hour menu for well under half the price of the other pastas that we ordered. This was really good, too. Very, very flavorful. I want some of this now! 8/10
Mentaiko Carbonara- Light in flavor and in taste esp when paired with the any of the other pastas. Not much mentaiko. 6.5/10
Eggrolls- I want to say there was cheese and some meat in there. Thought it was fine. 5/10
Bruschetta- There were three different flavors: tuna, mozzarella, and I forget the third one now...haha, sorry. I think it had wasabi, and it was actually my favorite of the three. They were all very good, though. 7.5/10
Dark Chocolate gelato- Rich and you get two small scoops along with a vanilla wafer. It was fine. 5/10.
I would give this 4.5 stars, and would definitely return to try more of their pastas. We came particularly for happy hour, but didn't end up ordering but one entree from the happy hour menu (and the appetizers were all from the HH menu). It's good quality food for a fair price. I can't wait to come back!
