| - Well, there seems to be new staff here and I'm not sure I like it. I'm a gold SPG and I did not get the gold treatment like I used to. I'm supposed to get any available upgrade upon check-in. I did not. The new girl at the front didn't even check for upgrade, instead, she gave me a room that the t.v. didn't work. It was also 2 queens which she said was the only available. I find that hard to believe. But, after having maintenance check the t.v. to tell me they can't fix, he had to tell the new girl at the front that I needed another room. She didn't want to give me another room but the maintenance guy had to demand it. He got the key for me. The next room I got smelled dingy which is unusual for this place. But, then again, new staff. I don't think it was cleaned before giving to me. But, her reluctance to give me the room tells me she just pushed me into a room that would satisfy her unwillingness to give me another room.
I stayed for two days and each day after returning for the day, I noticed that my lights had been left on indicating that someone had been in the room but nothing was restocked, cleaned, or done at all, only that the light was left on. I can only guess what they are doing. I did request the 'go green' but that would be for a room that was clean in the first place. It was not. I called to speak with the front desk and it was nothing but excuses and apologies without a solution which I can't stand. It's great to apologize but if you aren't doing anything to show the apology, it doesn't feel genuine. Today I will be speaking with the manager but I'm sure that it will be the same thing...apologies with no action.
I do not think I'll be coming back here. The change in staff is extremely noticeable in quality.
Update : I spoke with the front desk. I thought the staff had completely changed but glad to see they didn't. The girl that I remember seeing must've been off. But, she is back and when I brought up what happened, she took action.
I went to eat breakfast but now they have a buffet. I miss the restaurant. I also miss the cookies they used to offer.
It appears they are changing a few things here. I'm not yet used to them. The new staff seems to be taking time to get used to the place also, though. I did not get the warm feeling I usually get here. While telling the front desk what was happening, the new staff was standing nearby like they were trying to listen to what I was saying. If I wasn't a regular here, I would probably feel threatened to say the truth. Because I did get stares while talking. Both the housekeeper and the new front desk girl.
I'm changing my rating from one star to four because of the way the familiar staff handled my complaint. It made a world of difference to be spoken to with respect and understanding.
