| - Okay, so the Merc. At its best, the experience you might walk away with will go something like this: You slink in off the street through a few low-key, jovial conversations pitter-pattering on the corner patio and park yourself in line in front of a couple of dedicated and quirky baristas. You'll order a standard like a capp, latte or americano and begin to peruse the funky artwork adorning the otherwise drab yellow walls or perhaps you'll wait on the bench by the window and flip through a mildly ravaged newspaper sitting close by for a few good headlines. You might, if you are a bit experimental try one of their specialty coffees with honey and cracked pepper - but only if you are prepared to take it to stay. And if you are a bit peckish, you can snack on a fresh cookie or muffin with strange but good ingredients. Now, after perhaps listening to the baristas spar over some current event, or give you a rendition of their take on the sometimes heavy-metal like song blaring over the speakers, you'll receive a well crafted, frothy, rich tasting espresso drink that will warm your addicted belly and your day will be that much more rich and cultured i suppose. Mild drawbacks include the aforementioned occasional loud music and a bunch of rickety chairs.
