| - We went last saturday night after having a break from this venue, we've been many times in the past and generally had a good time.
However, on this occasion, not good at all. Bar staff in the upper bar were dull to say the least! Then, after finding 2 seats at the same bar we went for a dance, covering our drinks with a napkin (just a precaution and also making it pretty obvious that they were not just left unattended). When we came back to our seats the drinks had gone. I asked the bartender and she said she was not responsible for looking after our drinks. I asked where they had 'gone'? She was abrupt and not concerned. I asked again and she reluctantly agreed to replace the drinks and I thanked her a gave her a $5 tip as a thank you.
Later, we went for a dance again (covered drinks again), same bartender, came back and drinks gone yet again. I asked yet again where they had gone and got a dismissive response saying she was not there to look after our drinks. I replied she was not there to take them away either especially after what just happened earlier.
She then called over my shoulder to security and said "This man is shouting at me"
Oh dear I thought, here's a situation brewing! I carefully explained to 'security' that the bartender had taken my drinks on two occasions when we went for a dance and it was witnessed the second time by another lady at the bar who said the bartender had taken them.
He agreed to call 'the manager'.
The "manger" I have to say needs some training in customer service, instead of listening to my complaint he just repeated again and again "unattended drinks are removed by the bar staff"
This has NEVER happened to us before on numerous visits in the past.
In the end we walked out and I informed the manager to look out for my Yelp review.
Drinks are very expensive here as we all know and ran at $20 for me and my wife, I only had a bottled beer.
One instance of this can be understandable but not twice at the same bar with the same staff!
This was an opportunity for the manager to make good and apologise for any misunderstanding. However, he choose to be slightly aggressive and very immature in his handling of the situation and caused a bigger problem.
I do have to say that in the past this place becomes very busy later in the evenings but it was noticeably slower and not busy at all for a saturday night. Definitely not as popular as I remember from the past - coincidence?
PS - the band was very good! Shame about the bartender and the manager
