| - This is a solid Thai restaurant located next door to Sunrise Coffee. It's small but has a clean, upscale feel. Dimly lit, it's also quiet, making it a nice place to enjoy a low key meal as my family did on a Saturday night.
We were seated immediately at a table by the door when we arrived and were given excellent service by our server for our entire meal. Contrary to many other Thai places, our server was very amiable and gave us good recommendations even assisting us with the right spice level for our food. I'm not afraid of heat and can handle just about anything. But when I ordered 3 out of 5 spice level for our food, she immediately put me in check and said I should order 2 out of 5. I'm glad I did because the spice level was just right for everyone. All of her other recommendations were solid including: recommending the barbecue chicken when they were out of the teriyaki chicken for my daughter and her friend, dark meat instead of white for our curry, and not letting us pass up on dessert.
The menu consists of your usual Thai dishes with a bonus vegan section and chef recommendation section. Our usual shrimp rolls ($8), tom yum with shrimp ($12), and yellow curry with chicken ($11) were all up to par with the curry having a more depth of flavor with other spices compared to other places.
My daughter and her friend polished off the barbecue chicken ($10) and they gave us plenty of white rice as we needed it through our meal. I had the panang soft shell crab ($19) which the crab was fried perfectly and accompanied by some crisp asparagus and panang sauce. But there was just a little too much sauce, including on top, which drowned the crab. For dessert, everyone split the mango sticky rice ($7) which lasted about 3 minutes on the table. The tart and sweet mangoes with the sweet rice was a great finish.
We were definitely impressed with just about everything about our experience and there's no doubt we'll be back.
