  • I just moved to the area Saturday (6/11). I need a whole lot of household items to get set-up again. Target is familiar and what I thought was lucky, close to my new place. Sun (6/12) I went to Target on 5th St. It seemed nice, clean, good selection, etc. Everything was fine until checkout. I was next in line; the Cashier was currently working a transaction with a couple in front of me. During their transaction the Cashier put her cell phone down on her side of the checkout counter and began to text message. I thought it was odd, but this is my first time in this store, in this state. I said to the Cashier: "excuse me, are you texting while working?" She adamantly replied: "Yes, my daughter is in the hospital and my manager knows about it." I replied, I'm so sorry I hope she's okay." She started defending her actions. Then the couple that was checking out started shouting at me "it's not your business anyway." I stated back to them "yes it is my business, I am a customer." Then things really got ugly with the cashier. She kept saying how important her daughter was. I said then why aren't you off the floor? She was ringing up my sale at that time. The tension was immense. I asked for the manager she said over there and pointed. Sandra, Manager came over and repeatedly apologized for the way I was treated and that it should never have happened. I asked Sandra for the CS phone number to report this incident. While I was upset and speaking with Sandra a man came over in a plain t-shirt and said he was security. I asked for identification. He said here's my identification and pulled a pair of handcuffs out of his back pocket. I told him he has merely shown me an attitude and handcuffs, but no ID. There was another man standing quietly by and I asked him what was this all about? He said just to be sure things do not get physical. I asked if that was a common occurrence to have fights in this store? No one wanted to answer. I vacated my basket at the register and informed Sandra I would not be spending my money there. Sandra wrote a phone number down for me to contact Customer Service about the incident like I had requested. 888-826-8766 I called the number, it is for Catalina the company that is technical support for your printers. Does anyone know how to do their job is at this store? A concerned Non-Customer
