BOTTOM LINE: The staff's mathematical deficits and sense of entitlement for tips soured an otherwise fun night.
I considered whether rating them a 1-star was too harsh given how well everything else went, but I really can't see myself coming back. After ordering dinner and 2 bottles of wine, my DCs and I settled the bill and left the customary 15% tip. To our surprise, the manager confronted us on our "meager" tip without even asking us about how our night was or if we were dissatisfied with anything. Turns out, the manager felt entitled that tips should be based on AFTER-tax cost even though HST is, obviously, not part of any service or product they provide. Ridiculous, entitled and poor form.
