  • Wait-can I be frank? I mean, let's have an honest conversation about this place, cause I JUST DON'T GET IT. I have read great write ups about this place, reviews, it's recommended by random people. And so we go...and BOY OH BOY what a let down. We arrived mid week, about 6:30ish, go inside to see the hostess. It's not really busy. Somehow she shoves us in the last table by the take out area and the bus stand while half of the tables out front are empty. So after sitting down, we kinda looked around and took it upon ourselves to move to one of the empty tables with the rest of the population in the restaurant that actually had a pulse. We got the menus. I'm just gonna say it: I WISH THERE WERE MORE TACOS. Anyway- we ordered the guacamole and chips (75% of the chips were broke.. like the ones at the bottom of a cup bag...). The portion is enough to fill 1 tooth cavity. The waiter seemed really nice, an then he pulled a fast one on us. 10 minutes to get us a diet coke. But he still seemed nice. Obviously we didn't get it cause I can tell you that it took a good 45 minutes to get our food. And the 3 of us ordered the exact same thing. We did order a ceviche to share. It was not as good as others I have had (at other restaurants obviously). So much fruit floating around in the tuna one, I was looking for more tuna chunks. Never mind the grapes. The tacos were OK. It's annoying that more than half your plate is filled with rice and lentils. Got anything lighter? Like ANYTHING? Even Butterfield's across the plaza offers slices of tomatoes with your eggs Benedict if you want to forgo the home fries or grits. So back to our waiter, I think maybe he wasn't our waiter because the hostess delivered more than half our food. Or maybe they knew he pulled a quickie and disappeared? Endless possibilities here. And nothing that reflects well on the management. I mean who knows. And at the end of the day, who really cares except us, cause we are not gonna go back. There are plenty of other great taco places around Scottsdale. I mean, you probably pass 4 on your way to this place. It gets a big 'eh'.
