Perfectly decent historical site that you may have driven by a number of times on your way to the mall - which may (or may not) be a historical footnote one day.
Situated next to the Waldhorn, it's easy enough to miss - there is a dirt road headed seemingly to nowhere, but if you head down it you'll find a small center that tells you about the 11th president and how he spent some time in this part of NC before moving along. It's a nice exhibit.
Outside are a few reconstructed buildings of what things might have looked like at the time. It's not old Williamsburg or anything, but if you have a bit of time to spend one afternoon, it can be worth a visit.
