| - Ditto to all those 2 star reviews out there. I stayed at the Park MGM because it was affordable and had a good location, but I have to say that it was not a terribly enjoyable experience.
Here is why:
1. Slow Service: There were two instances when this came about. First when we arrived in our room the safe wasn't working, so we called and waited about 30 minutes for a security team member to arrive. The person was actually really awesome and handled the issue quickly once there, but that doesn't really make up for the fact that it took so long for someone to respond. Second... The same thing happened upon checkout when calling for a bell hop. We waited about 40 minutes for someone to arrive ... In a city like Vegas, that's a lot of time sitting around doing nothing.
2. The Bathrooms: They just make no sense. First off why is there no proper door with a lock? Why does it have to be one of these weird sliding doors that has to be closed so i can reach the closet. Let's not forget the lack of privacy with no lock. This might be ok if it were only in rooms with one bed for couples or one person... But I don't know if I need everyone I'm sharing a room with to have access to the bathroom when I'm in it. I narrowly avoided awkward situations more than once. Allllllso the shower door doesn't close completely. There is a solid 1/2 inch gap that basically just spits water out onto the floor while you shower.... Which is not fun.
3. The Entrance: This is due more to the construction they're doing, but entering from Las Vegas blvd right now is a pain. There is no direct street access, so you have to go all the way to the side by New York, New York. I wouldn't mind so much in cool weather, but in 90+ degrees that's brutal.
4. The Pool: I did like the general vibe of the pool, but not that you can't take anything to eat or drink with you. Vegas is already bleeding me dry for every little thing, why can't i have my Cheese-Its while near the pool?
Now I will say there were a few good things about this place. As I said the pool vibe was cool and not crowded, the blackout curtains in the room worked almost too well annnnd all of the employees were super nice and a pleasure to meet. I just think the management/remodel isn't being handled all that well. I hope things improve and the hotel gets back on track.
Stay Cheerful ;)
