This is a park which starts on Queen Street, and goes south all the way to the beaches. Kews Garden is pretty massive where Toronto Parks are concerned, this one has a fenced off playground for kids, a baseball diamond, rollerblade rink and plenty of picnic tables and running room for the kids and dogs alike.
I've never seen a playground so bustling as this one. I think every piece of equipment that could fit a child, was occupied! It was pretty insane. The playground is also right beside the restrooms, which I guess is pretty useful. But the restrooms aren't really designed in a kid friendly fashion. There are no changing stations or large stalls for parents and child, the bathrooms are basically two small stalls in a stinky outhouse.
The walk itself to the beach I don't think takes more than 10 minutes from Queen to the boardwalk. It's a nice walk, especially on a nice breezy day as yesterday. A great way to spend the day - shopping on Queen, grabbing a bite and then walking along the beaches.
