| - In mid-February we had a dishwasher catch fire with resultant smoke/soot damage to nearly our entire house. The fire department sprayed chemicals throughout the kitchen in order to contain the fire. Subsequently nearly the entire contents of our house had to be removed and cleaned and/or restored while six weeks of reconstruction was undertaken to repair the house.
The morning after the fire we interviewed several restoration companies (including Servpro), but we ultimately decided to go with 1st Response. Dan, the on-site foreman for 1st Response, couldn't have been more professional, amicable or hard-working. He literally made himself available to us 24/7, and when he wasn't working 12 hour days at our property he was always available via his cell phone to answer any questions or reply to our text messages. The other core team members who helped with our house - Mark and Gil - were also extremely professional and hard working. We felt very comfortable having them handle our possessions. They meticulously photographed all of our things, and ultimately a database was generated with a description of each item along with a photo. This database was immensely helpful when it came time for us to itemize our losses for our insurance company.
In addition to cleaning many items on-site, 1st Response arranged for our artwork, rugs and hardwood furniture to be restored by local third-party professionals. Dan coordinated everything - he arranged for the pick up and return of all of our belongings, and he kept us updated at all times throughout this stressful process. I should also mention that Dan's supervisor, Jaycob Garcia, touched base with us numerous times during this two-month ordeal to ensure that we were satisfied with their handling of our home restoration.
We literally couldn't be more satisfied with the level of service and professionalism embodied by 1st Response. And once again, we'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dan!
