  • Martorano's can't decide what kind of restaurant it wants to be. Its both tacky and faux elegant. Its kitchen is open yet its ingredients and prep are very basic. Its prices are high and its quality of food is middle at best. Steve Martorano is painted as a South Philly goon (Posters of him with "Yo Cuz!!" in large print are plastered everywhere") who somehow learned how to cook despite no formal training. You will see his book, his image, and videos of him talking about cooking during your time there. It's like walking into someone's ego. They are really selling this guy's image along with the food. The Ego would be fine if the food matched it. Or, at the very least, justified the prices. None of the food was bad, but it wasn't very good either and, at about $50 a person, I'm hard pressed to recommend this place when there are SO many better Italian options on the strip in the immediate vicinity.
