  • My Audi A4 had broke down just down the road from their location and I had taken it in to see what happened. Upon walking into the shop, I noticed it doesn't say Audi anywhere on the signs, so I said do you guys feel confident and comfortable working on it... they replied with we got 1 guy, but he can do it! I agreed to pay the $120 diagnosis fee and got a call later that day with the results. Side note, they did get me in the same day and were very friendly. The results were that I needed a new fuel injector, spark plug and needed to have my fuel line cleaned out. With a lot of hesitation about needing new fuel injectors at 57,000 miles, they assured me this was the fix. I was still a little hesitant that I called back in the morning before they started the work and said ARE YOU SURE...they again reassured me and told me the charges would be about $1,200. They made the fixes and called me back about 8 hours later, telling me that the car engine is actually worse with the new injectors and that the piston was actually broke. So serious that I pretty much need a new engine and I'd need to take it to an Audi dealership (the piston did break and it does need a new engine). I was told, they wouldn't have known this if they didn't make the fuel injector change. They took what the believed to be the problem and make the fix, (in my opinion) before entirely diagnosing the situation, knowing the car (Audi) or having the proper tools to do a full diagnosis. However, I'm now still on the hook for all the charges and labor that they spent on my car. After long negotiations, the business was willing to work with me and offer assistance on the bill...so I give them compliments on realizing there was a mistake and I shouldn't have had a bunch of the work done. What makes me upset, is how confident they were about working on my car and not assessing the FULL situation. Don't tell me you have no problem working on Audi's and then have issues or not the right tools. This may be a great auto body shop, but DO NOT take a car there that they're not licensed for. I should have know better. Following that I had to tow my car to the Audi dealership, pay Greg's over $600 and still have to buy a new engine (note: no one should ever have to buy a new car engine at 57,000 miles... that has nothing to do with this repair shop though). In my opinion I believe $120 should have been charged for the diagnosis and told that this is super serious, take it elsewhere. PS I did then have to pay $165 for a diagnosis again at Audi, but they were able to find/determine that the engine was shot.
