| - We asked Itsi-bitsi to make cupcakes for our wedding. The owner seemed very nice. We then agreed to pay her $75 to set up the cupcakes the day of our wedding. Much to our surprise, When the wedding was over we were handed 30 cupcakes by the hotel, still in their boxes, and not even opened or set up.
Afterwards we approached her, and explained that we had paid her to ensure that the setup was complete, and therefore it was her responsibility to make it happen. While the hotel was late in setting up a table for her, she had many opportunities to be resourceful to make sure it happened. She could have:
1) Set up a table for herself and ensured all the cupcakes were on display.
2) Made every effort to contact the hotel the night of and make sure they were on display.
3) Called the hotel when the even started to ensure the extra cupcakes were set up.
Bottom line - we paid itsi bitsi to set up our cupcakes, and they didn't follow through.
Even worse, was her way of handling our complaint - instead of politely explaining what had happened, and offering us some sort of compensation to keep the customer happy, all we heard from her was excuse after excuse of why it wasn't their fault.
Lastly, their cupcakes are only "ok". They are one of the cheaper options in Montreal, but I guess you pay for what you get.
I would not recommend any business that does not go to sufficient lengths to make their customers happy, or, when things do go wrong, try and make amends. It's bad business practice.
