My family and I had never owned a dog that the owner would have to get groomed, until 2.5 years ago we got a Shih Tzu that we fell in love with. We have been taking him to Petco Summerlin and the particular Groomer is amazing, but the location. I found Barking Dogs on Yelp and read most of the reviews but gave them a chance because when I had called in to get more information I spoke to Alice which left me with a good impression that she really cares. Well I called back a couple days later and spoke with a another female to set up an appointment, she had mentioned to me that Vinnie is the only available groomer and for us being new to this facility we made the appointment. My husband and son took our Shih Tzu to his appointment they discussed to Vinnie (groomer) length/style and advised him several times "Please do not cut his Lashes". When they had arrived to pick him up he did not look like he had a happy experience with Vinnie, which took the payment and his tip, but did not mention anything about his lashes. My son had noticed on their way home that his lashes were cut and his nails were half trimmed and his hair cut was odd.
My husband Called me at work and told to me what happened so I immediately called and explained to Alice (Manager) our first experience at the Barking Dog. Alice had mentioned to me that Vinnie was having a difficult time cutting around his face and the lashes could of been cut by accident. Which we would be understanding about that if he had communicated that to us when he received his 20% tip or when he brought our Shih Tzu up front. I had communicated with Alice that we will not be returning customers, she was nice enough to listen to me, offered to have us to make an appointment with another groomer with a 10% discount and extended her apologies. I told her that I will have discuss this with my husband.
I am not saying that this place is terrible, but I saying that our First Experience her was not a happy or positive one. Please, just be cautious on the groomer and if this is your first time here at the Barking Dog do not make your appointment with Vinnie.
