| - I just took my first-ever woodworking class at the DreamShop, an extension of the very new CU Woodshop Supply. What a blast! I got to play with some power tools and learn how to turn wood on a lathe. Our instructor, Jerry Rhoads, walked us through each step and made sure that everyone left with a finished product they were proud of.
The best part was that I, a generally non-crafty person, left feeling anxious not only for future woodworking projects, but just to get craftier in general. I so enjoyed making something I could look at and think, "I made that, and not only does it not look like crap, it's pretty darn nice if I do say so myself."
As someone who has never used woodworking materials before, I can't really comment on the stock the shop carries... but from the attitude of the people working there I'd imagine the shop either has what you need or can get it very easily.
Check out their calendar for their class schedule, and find something that calls to you. If I can enjoy it and come out with something great, you DEFINITELY can.
