  • I have been coming here for a few years now. Massages are good for blood circulation, so my doctor has recommended I go as much as possible - this place is in the neighborhood and won't break your bank, so I was going at least once a week for an hour at a time. I just finished a treatment and I felt I had to write a review after my discussion over the phone with the manager. Let me first start by letting everyone know my experience. When I entered, it was quite clear I was the only one in there, as the only person working was watching tv. No problem. He greeted me and I told him that I wanted to do one hour - feet and legs only - as it helps my joints. He said ok. After walking me to the room and asking me to have a seat, I started to get comfortable. He came back in and the treatment started. He asked me to lay back and after I did, he started massaging my forehead, then head, then arms, then hands... There was clearly a language barrier. And, started noticing him breathing very heavily from his mouth and sniffling. When he started on my feet (after about 25min), he had to excuse himself to go in the back and j could hear him blowing his nose. I noticed that he also came back with a towel and kept it on the table (that other people will be massaged on later today) next to me. At this point, I didn't know what to do because I felt so bad for him. He seemed like a nice older man and I didn't want to embarrass him. So, I let him continue. Now, I've totally become unrelaxed and am focused on the guy who I can see wiping his draining nose into his arms while he's massaging my feet. Gross, right?! He couldn't even concentrate on the massage because we was waiting to blow his nose again lol. I thought I would do the right thing and I called immediately to speak to the manager so she knows what's going on. I've been going long enough to know her personal phone is the establishments work line. I explained the situation to her and all she had to say was that she would "tell him" and "ask him to go home." And, she asked how much I spent and I told her $30 for the massage and I left him a $5 tip - cause I felt bad. Then she said "thank you for your opinion and feedback. I hope you come back." What the?! They have signs that clearly state "no refunds due to the type of service," but come on! You have a sick employee that just ran his hands over my face and body. I'm not one to complain to get free stuff - I work in hospitality and know far too well the people that are out to do this. And, I make enough to not worry about $30. But, I also know when you fall short, you fix it. She could have offered me a refund or a free treatment on my next visit. Either would have kept me going back. But, she really believed that I still should pay for the service, which just blows my mind. It's unfortunate m, really. I had been going here for so long and one awful experience that wasn't made right, will end up costing them more, in the long run. I gave two stars only because I still feel bad for that guy and I have had some good experiences in the past.
