| - This is my first time staying at the Doubletree Hilton hotel in Phoenix, AZ.
Located right off the main roadway, its proximity to the airport is just about a mile away, with complimentary shuttle that comes for pick up upon request, by calling the front desk of the hotel.
Front Desk Service
My company colleagues and I checked into the room at around 6:30PM. We were all given rooms closeby. One of the things that I found difficult about this property, was that the elevator location, depending on your room location, can be quite far away. We walked across the pool area, get on the elevator, to get to the room. You may end up getting up on the wrong elevator, and walk across the entire maze just to get to your room.
Room
The room sizes here are quite large, given that each room is a suite. For one person, I felt that the room size was a bit too large, but didn't mind at all. The room itself is clean and bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom was small, and could use some updating, given found some grout in the bath tub. There's ample space to work in, and the small kitchenette is a nice touch to the room. There are two televisions-one in the living room, and one in the master bedroom. The ideal person to take this type of room would be someone whose here on vacation with their kids perhaps--throw the kids on the couch per say.
Location of the Hotel
My colleagues and I ended up eating out for dinner, at Ruby Tuesday, which is down the street from the property. It's very closeby, but this is one of the very few restaurants in the area. In the morning, I was looking for breakfast and yelped, to find that there's a small mexican stand-alone restaurant on 40th street. It's a breeze of a walk---roughly a ten to twelve minute walk from the hotel. I wouldn't recommend walking out late, but it was a nice walk in the morning, to pick up a breakfast burrito.
Overall
I wouldn't mind staying at this location again. Overall, rooms are clean, and while I might add that the bathrooms could use an update, it's a perfectly fine hotel for a few nights stay.
