| - If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! I did a lot of Yelping and researching before deciding to take my pups to Hayden Road Animal Hospital. We moved to Arizona in February and didn't even have anyone to recommend a decent Vet. My poor Floyd has had to see A LOT of Vets, and though I'm sure all of them do care about animals, not all of them take the time to show it. This place is super easy to find, plenty of parking, and as soon as you walk through the door you can tell that the techs who greet you are SUPER friendly and love animals. They even have a pet parrot that chills behind the desk!
Me and my two dogs were taken to our exam room promptly, but we waited quite awhile for another tech to come in. At first I was slightly put off by this, but it gave my pups the time to check out the room and be less frightened of this new place. When the tech came in, she was very very nice, and took the time to get to know me and my dogs (which is totally worth the extra wait time-- I'm sure she was giving the same great service to someone else and their animal!) before taking them back for routine blood work. We waited a bit for the Vet while the cultures and blood work was studied, and when Dr. Ryan came in, he was absolutely GREAT. He took time to get to know my dogs (doing the majority of his talking to me while kneeling so he could be closer to my little dogs) and was thorough with their exams and made sure to explain everything he could to me to help me learn about the medications my dogs would be on, how to help them be comfortable while medicating etc. He was extremely personable and I didn't feel as through I was just another customer he was rushing out the door as I have with other Vets. He genuinely cared about giving me and my dogs the best experience and making sure they were cared for.
After we were through with our appointment, I went to the front desk to make our next check up appointment. The availability here is great-- them being open on Saturdays makes all the difference for me and is super appreciated. I love not having to take time off work from my 9-5 to get my pups great care! After I paid and our appointment was made the tech asked if she could give them each a little treat and 'make some friends'. My dogs were weary at first (as they always are) but she took a good 5-7 minutes gaining their trust and patiently breaking up their treats so they could eat them. It was so sweet and again, showed me how much these dogs who they've never met before, mean to her and to the staff as a whole.
I can definitely say that I've found my new, permanent Vet in Arizona and I'm SO happy. It takes a lot to trust someone with your fur-babies that you love so much!
