| - I am acquiring a movie collection for my kids. I love watching new movies (i.e. Avengers) with my two sons (3&5) and better yet, I love sharing movies that I loved as a kid (i.e. NeverEnding Story, Bambi). It is a great bonding time for us and I always take advantage of the opportunity of starting discussions on relevant topics within the movies. (i.e. discussing adoption during the movies Matilda, Tarzan and Kung Fu Panda).
In this age of streaming movies, why would anyone start a DVD library of movies you ask? BECAUSE USED DVDS ARE SO CHEAP! That's why. LOL. When you can buy the movies for around the same price as renting them, just buy them. Since we have a DVD player in the SUV, we pick their favorites movies to play on long rides to places like San Diego, Sedona and Lake Tahoe. (We get around.)
Shopping at Zia for kids movies is super easy because their movies are separated into categories. In addition to movies, Zia also sells used games, CDs, records and collector/novelty items. The have some really cool and unique items. Great gift ideas for the hard-to-shop-for person.
I've only been here once and as much as I like the place, I was really upset when, while shopping, my 5 year old son said, "Daddy, I have to pee."
"Can it wait?" I replied.
"No. I have to go now." he said urgently.
It's a sad story, but it's not the first time it's happened when staff have no sympathy for a child & stand by the store policy of not letting customers use the staff bathroom. But this story has a happy ending. After the lady told my 5 year old that he could not use the bathroom, I walked him outside of their front door, dropped his pants & peed in front of their front door onto the concrete. (He's a kid so he has not learned to be pee-shy yet.) One point for KARMA. ROFL. And then we came back in and continued shopping. No one said a word. And I spend almost $100. The end.
