Oh Java House. How I keep coming back to thee. Somehow I've shaken my soft spot for their sister restaurants, but Java House will not be shaken. It's the one place that I go to recreate my university days, since it's a heck of a lot more appealing then throwing garbage all over my apartment and waiting for some roaches to arrive.
We do a lot of Saturdays on Queen West, and while there are a lot of options (some of them really great options) none of them can match Java House in terms of a) the caliber of patio and b) the cheapness of drinks.
90% of the time they have a special that includes two entrees and a pitcher of beer/sangria for $26. $26!!!!!!! Isn't that cuh-razy?
My choice items are the red sangria and the perogies. Be warned, though, when a bar offers sangria at the same price as their domestic beer, you're not getting good sangria.
But, hey, if you're looking for cheap drinks on a patio on Queen West, Java House is the place.
