| - Located in the heart of downtown, this is a great place for the working person, student, or juror to grab a meal.
This place was pretty packed when my fiancé brought us here for lunch. We walked up to the upper level which was dark and had a great pub feel. We took a seat by the windows and waited for a server to come around.
Service: it took a while to get a menu, but once they came, they returned frequently to check up on us and grab the order. Service isn't the fastest here, partially because it's a more casual environment, and partially because the food takes a while to make.
Food: its worth the wait. We ended up getting the Pilgrim after we were told that they were out of the Bangers and Mash. These Cornish pasties are humongous and delicious. We split the one pasty and it was the perfect lunch, but maybe on the lighter side for my fiancé. The thing is, they're dense meals, so be prepared to feel heavy if you end up devouring the whole pasty by yourself (which is always so darn tempting). Sharing is recommended.
The Pilgrim was excellent and filled with a savory mix of stuffing, sweet potatoes, and turkey. Covered it gravy and cranberry sauce, it was too good. Hello Fall.
We'll be back!
