| - We came with our toddler and infant on a Bank of America free weekend (check out BoA's "Museums on Us" program, which offers free admission for BoA cardholders to local museums and cultural attractions on the first weekend of every month). When we stepped foot into the old building we didn't expect much, but we were pleasantly surprised.
We loved all of the exhibits, but my favorites were the Prehistoric Life Gallery (even though the t-rex sound scared my little guy, LOL) and the African Savanna gallery. My toddler loved the marine life exhibit and the young scientist center, both of which have some hands-on stuff for kids. I find the shark feeding a little gross (you see the food "floating around" afterwards, LOL) but my kid thinks it's fascinating.
We also loved "Critter Connections", an informative and interactive experience where you learn about and touch different critters. Not a huge fan insects, spiders, snakes and lizards, but there's something different about interacting with them while someone who is completely unfazed holds them (and they're not crawling around your house LOL). I did feel a little "itchy" afterwards, haha.
I take off a star because some of the areas of the museum are extremely hard to navigate with a double stroller... I chalk that it up to the building being older and less "accessible" than newer buildings.
With or without your Bank of America card, it's definitely a cool place to visit with kids!
