I admit that I was hesitant to try this place based on the low reviews, but someone else planned it. As I read through the reviews, it seemed like they were mostly low due to the amount of food for the price, so I was glad that for the most part, people seemed to like the food.
We made reservations for 4 at 8:00 on a Thursday. We were immediately seated and the place was very quiet.
Our order was a bit non traditional. We just asked the waiter to bring a large variety of their specialties/most popular items. I'm the most picky of the group and found enough that I enjoyed. The other more adventurous eaters liked everything. My favorite was one of the cooked fish dishes (pic attached).
We started with warm sake, had a large variety of different plates come out staggered, and ended with dessert. My favorite dessert of the few we got was the miso sorbet. A light, refreshing end to the meal.
Our bill for 4 people was $830. Not inexpensive, but it was around a 3 hour dining experience and I don't think anyone left hungry.
