| - Just driving through the area and had to stop for the night. I checked into a nearby motel and then decided to grab a bite here at Alexander's. The decor made me think it would be much more affordable than it was. I mean, vinyl tablecloths at a steakhouse? I figured I'd be able to get a burger, but nope, not on the menu. They did have a variety of steaks, along with a couple chicken entrees and seafood entrees. Now, I don't go to many steakhouses, but the $2 upcharge to have them cook my steak for me was surprising. No steak for me. I ordered the shrimp, which came in a huge portion. In fact, they were too big (which sounds ridiculous, but trust me.) I ate 1/2 of the serving and left the rest. They were gummy and flavorless. The garlic toast was greasy and burnt, and if therecwas garlic involved, I missed it. The salad bar was unremarkable, but not bad. My waitress was sweet and attentive, and I was just too tired to complain about the food and wait for them to fix it. On the whole, even if I lived in the area, I doubt I'd go back.
