| - Um...it was OK.
Was headed to a Suns game with my buddy and he recommended we come here. It is real close to the arena, he knows the owners, it has been here forever, and I'm always down to try a new spot out. We parked in the lot, headed inside and browsed the menu. My buddy always gets a dish (off menu) that consists of noodles, beef and vegetables made Sczechuan style. It's kind of like a chow mein but with thicker noodles...almost like spaghetti? Kind of hard to describe. He says he always orders it and never strays from it. Figured why not order it myself. It sounded decent. I also went with an egg roll. Here is how everything was.........
Egg Roll- First of all, these egg rolls were huge! They were fried pretty well, but just a smidge greasy. The filling of the egg roll was not that great though. It consisted mostly of bean sprouts. It didn't have the usual mix of veggies or pork that most traditional egg rolls have. I ate the whole thing down with some hot mustard and it was just ok. Was it the worst egg roll ever? No. Would I order one again? Also, no.
Beef Noodle Dish- This thing came with a huge pile of noodles with some sauteed beef and veggies throughout. The noodles has a good consistency, were thick and chewy and were easy to spool around the fork. They did have a bit of a greasy texture like the egg roll, and you could see the "sheen" on the noodles, but they went down fine. Would I get them again? Eh...possibly. They tasted ok but it isn't something I would ever crave.
Service was friendly, and the pricing was fair for the portion you get. Am I coming back? By myself, no. With a group of people that love the place before going to a game downtown? Maybe. Wasn't bad, wasn't great. Just A-OK. Exactly what 3 stars is.
