La Tavola offers some pretty standard Italian food. Nothing that really stood out, but still a pretty good meal. The atmosphere inside was the same as just about any Italian restaurant. A little stuffy, but not so much that it affected our experience. They are byob which made for a fun experience with the group I went with. Our servers were very nice and accommodating despite our large party.
For appetizers we had stuffed peppers, calamari, and zucchini. The zucchini was probably my favorite, however none of the appetizers were very impressive. For my meal I went with the Strip steak. I also tried some of my wife's Margarita pizza, which I wish I would have went with. The pizza had a great texture and flavor. My steak unfortunately was pretty bad. When it was brought out I was not asked to cut into it. If I had been I probably would have sent it back. However I was starving by the time it got to me so I didn't want to wait. The meat really lacked any flavor. Also, the presentation of it was pretty pathetic. It was just the hunk of meat on a large white plate with nothing else on or around it which did not make it look very appetizing from the start. Other people did seem to enjoy their meals, especially the lamb however, so maybe I just made a bad choice.
