| - It is really 3.5 stars. Rounded up due to the excellent and accommodating service.
I have to make an honest disclaimer - steakhouses annoy me. What you get typically doesn't worth what you have to pay for it.
Now, that it is out of the way, let's get to the review itself.
ENVY is located at inside of the Renaissance hotel in Las Vegas. We had dinner there, but not by choice - Las Vegas had a rare case of horrendous weather with very strong winds, so going out was a bad option.
The restaurant offers very substantial wine list (they are recipients of one of the Wine Spectator awards). I didn't look much through the list, as was the only one drinking wine and only needed a glass. I ended up with a glass of Terra d'Oro Barbera from Amador County in California, which was excellent - but 9 oz pour at $19, which greatly exceeds the retail price of the whole bottle.
For the first course, I had the Wedge salad - tiny piece of lettuce, probably one eighth of the head - but it was fresh and tasty.
For my main course, I had seared scallops - a whole of 4 scallops for $29. They were very nicely done, no questions, but again, price performance simply doesn't work for me.
We had multiple sides (roasted potatoes, asparagus, mushrooms, spinach, broccoli rabe) - all very tasty.
Excellent, friendly and attentive service.
Would I recommend this place? There is nothing wrong with it, really, but Las Vegas offers so many great food options at a fraction of a price, so I would only say - eat there if you must.
