Not only has Angie's List for years charged way too much ($40 for lots of years before jumping to $100 a few years ago, before it finally offered a limited membership to consumers for free while Yelp and porch.com both have easier websites & don't have to call someone to get your membership cancelled. There are a few advantages to Angies List but IMHO not close to being worth the annual cost of $100 (which automatically renews unless you call them ). But probably the worst thing about Angie's List is that their search results list gives preference to contractors that advertise with them that have a B or better grade - Um, I think not! The whole reason I am spending time & $ was to find the A contractors (which are normally overrated & should b B anyway). Plus these contractors with so-called deals always say to present the deal before getting the estimate and that's because they raise the estimate. There really are no deals!
