I got all my birthday cakes here as a kid, and their almond-flavored white cake with raspberry buttercream is still my gold standard of birthday cakes. I've never had a cake more light or tender, and the buttercream is delicious--just the right texture and not too sweet! I also love the pignoli cookies--almond macaroons studded with toasted pine nuts--and the pasticciotti, the lemon custard-filled shortbread tarts I would want for my last meal. Although I live in Boston now, near the cream of the crop of Italian-American bakeries, I still find myself craving a Moio's almond cake or pasticciotti on the reg. I wish they shipped!
