| - So, I'm an avid thriftier. Being a student, I am on a pretty tight budget so every thrift store I see I HAVE to go in. And yes, I know it may sound a little sad, but not all thrift stores are created equally. Some are just too expensive for used items, some allow heavily worn or dirty items to the racks, and some are just little treasure chests full of great stuff. As for the Salvation Army, I give two stars because "Meh. I've experienced better." Firstly, most of their clothes are on the higher end of the prices normally seen at thrift stores. The ONLY time I go is on Wednesdays, where everything but one color is half off. Secondly, being a Christian organization they play the local radio station , The Fish. I can only take so many hours of horribly untalented and cheesy Christian rock. I mean, for Christ's sake (no pun intended), play some classic rock or even oldies. Also, there was the whole anti-gay statement that is tantamount to the values of Salvation Army, and bigotry annoys me.
