Our washing machine died and the warranty company couldn't fix it. As we are tenants and our landlord is out of town, she gave us the authority to go to Sears and purchase an inexpensive front load machine.
The sales experience was an utter nightmare. You're already spending at least $500 hard earned dollars and all they want to do is nickel and dime you with upcharge after upcharge. Hoses, upgraded hoses, delivery, disposal... The list goes on and on. There is zero care for the customer and if you walk away, they don't care about that either.
People wonder why Sears is going under... It's part bad products (except for tools and appliances) but is a vast part their horrible customer service. If we owned this home, I would not be dealing with these poor excuses for employees. I would go to Lowe's (free delivery and haul away) or Home Depot (free delivery).
If you can avoid Sears, I urge you to do so. The experience is an utter nightmare and completely unnecessary.
