| - Gold Coast is a small, local casino and hotel right off the strip (behind Rio).
I like this hotel because it's very close to the strip, close to Chinatown and West Vegas, close to the highway, and there's barely any traffic around it!!
I am giving Gold Coast 4 stars (which is alot for this small hotel) for these reasons:
1. They remodeled the suite floor, its a bit more modern looking. Stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom + living room suite with a kitchen & fridge.
2. Ping Pang Pong, the dim sum restaurant, is simply DELISH. I lovee their dim sum. There is a long wait but just order to go if you're in a hurry.
3. They have a mini hot pot restaurant called Noodle Exchange!! I didn't have time to try it but I will next time.
4. The casino games have pretty low minimums so it's fun to play.
5. They have a coffee shop that serves Starbucks coffee.
6. Parking is fairly easy and you don't have to valet everytime. It's also close to walk inside so you don't have walk a couple miles to get to your room like some bigger hotels.
7. Good and fast cocktail service unlike most casinos. The waitresses may be a bit grumpy but it's decent service.
8. They also have a bowling alley inside.
9. Free WIFI.
10. A hotdog stand right by the table games if you're in a hurry.
11. Small pool but its quiet, relaxed, and good for a family. It's clean and there's hardly anyone out there! It's definitely NOT one of those crazy, nice pools at those big casinos but it's good to get a tan and dip in.
A few cons...
1. The air circulation is pretty bad. It stinks like smoke and old-ness. They probably need a better ventilation system and need to change out their carpets now.
2. This casino is quiet, people look dead, the dealers look verrry tired!!
3. ONE of the pit bosses (an older, skinny Caucasian gentleman with white hair) was very rude to us just because we kept winning. He kept giving us excuses to make us leave. Wtf? Very rude and unpleasant. We left the table and came back later when the pit bosses changed. Other than that, the other pit bosses are very nice and friendly.
4. The pillows on my bed hurt my neck. They were too high and not comfortable at all.
5. The A\C in the room was very loud and distracting while sleeping.
Besides a few minor issues, I would stay at Gold Coast again. I love the dim sum and the tables there. Had a very pleasant experience.
