The food was probably worth at least 4 stars, but other aspects of our dining experience resulted in an overall lower rating. I second what others have said about the hostesses. I've tried to get a reservation in the past and received similar responses to other reviewers. This time we made the reservation 2-3 months in advance so there was no problem. We had to make a 7:30 show and requested a 5:30 reservation so that our meal would not be rushed. We were told that a 6:00 would be plenty.
Yes, they got us out of there in time to put leftovers in the car and still get to the theater, but........Our meal didn't hit the table until 6:55. The steak and frites were great, but I didn't eat a lot of it b/c I didn't want all of the heavy food sitting in my stomach throughout the show. Given how late the food came out of the kitchen I also didn't want to inhale my meal and be even more uncomfortable. They probably would have made more money on us if we got the earlier reservation too. I definitely would have ordered more wine, some before dinner and some during. Dessert was not even an option.
The steak was really thick and delicious. However, there were so many flavors on the plate that it was a bit over the top. Either one of the sauces or the frites were extremely salty, which then just took over the flavor. My husband had the flat iron steak and loved it. The mushrooms and sauce were divine.
All of this being said, I would definitely go back but not on a night when I had to be somewhere else at a certain time.
