This review is based on their tonkotsu soy milk tsuke soba only. 3.5 stars.
I've been eyeing Tsujiri's tsuke soba ever since I saw it on Instagram, and finally decided to get it this past Tuesday. It came with a plate of matcha flavored soba and a bowl of dipping sauce, made from a mix of pork bone broth, soy milk, and chili oil. The texture of the soba was firm as it should be, but taste-wise, the buckwheat flavor is stronger than the matcha; not bad per se, but I just expected the matcha to be more prominent. And I do like the earthiness of it. As for the broth, I'm still not sure if I liked it or not. It had this semi-creamy peanut-y savory soy taste to it. I actually can't think of anything to compare it to, but it did remind me of thai flavors.
Overall, it was a confusing yet interesting bowl of noodles. I'll be back to try their dessert platters.
