| - I kind of feel let down by the hype that was created around Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill.
And it's mostly disappointment emerging from the food menu, which pretty much doesn't have very many vegetarian options. You really have to be a hardcore meat eater to enjoy items listed on the menu. Sure, they will modify whatever they can to make it vegetarian friendly, but the best option you really have is well, the beer.
We walked in for lunch and the seating hostess seated us at the farthest table possible, which was closest to the kitchen. That just seemed very odd when there was a plethora of empty pub tables and tables with comfy chairs on the walk over. I asked that we be seated elsewhere because I did not want to smell of food. She made a face, but f*ck that. When I fork money on the food at a restaurant (and I am not cheap by any means), I expect to be seated where I deem I would be most comfortable.
Once we were seated and handed our menus, the server came by almost instantly. He made recommendations on beers, but given that most beers lately are on the hoppiest side with the IPAs and such, barring your quintessential Coors, Stella, my only option was Boddingtons. Which wasn't bad (more like an amber ale), but come on, I can buy these at the store. My husband opted for a combination of Guiness and Stella, which he rather liked.
We also ended up ordering an order of the Warm Salty pretzels and the mini pub sliders (minus the bacon). Here is where food math fails me - there's 2 of us, but there are 3 pretzel sticks in the order. Am I supposed to break one in half to share it 50-50 with my husband!? That said, they were soft and the mustard that came with was great! We requested that the meat be well done on our burgers, but they were medium at best. Flavorful, nonetheless. The order was fulfilling. But nothing spectacular. Our server was great. But this will probably be the only time I visit here.
