| - 09/28/17 UPDATE:
My aunt said what they did on me was an ultrasonic cleaning. And that all of her years in practice she's only had to use it a couple times. And when she did use it she never splashed her patients with water! And she uses it mainly on patients that smoke a lot or haven't seen the dentist in years. Which, was not my case. I see the dentist regularly. My aunt said she should have never used it on me. And as far as the other problems I have with my teeth, she said come in for a second opinion because it doesn't seem right!! She said if I need a tooth capped or crowned I should either be in pain, or my tooth should be cracked or falling apart!! And I have zero pain or problems with any of my teeth. She said a lot of these young doctors are money hungry after they come out of school. There you have it folks!!
Since I started going here I've had awesome experience up until now. Don't get me wrong they are all still so very very nice but the quality of service changed. I don't know if there's new ownership with this place or what but I have different doctor now. The only person that I recognize is Ryan. Even the front staff is new. I had a teeth cleaning and xrays and the assistant Mahe (I usually get Ryan and he does an awesome job) was fumbling around in my mouth and just didn't seem comfortable in what she was doing. On top of that she pointed out how all these things are wrong with my teeth. Seems like every time I go in there for the past year they want me coming back in again for more work!
Also the Dr. Ngyen did a teeth cleaning on me using a WaterPik or something like that and she sprayed water all over my face, neck, dripping down my back. so I couldn't breathe and it was dripping down the back of my neck onto my shirt. The sound it made was almost deafening it was like a high-pitched squeal. It was so uncomfortable and crazy wild! I thought maybe the first time she sprayed me it was an accident but she did it through the entire cleaning. She kept joking around saying it was a facial. To me that's not funny because I get so traumatized having anybody doing work in my mouth. They never did that in my cleanings before. Plus my mouth was filling up with saliva and water and they would not suction my mouth out. Felt like I was drowning. Don't know where the assistant went! I was not about to swallow it either. It really was gross. This visit was not a comfortable visit at all.
My aunt is a hygienist (she lives out of state) who has been working for a dentist for 30+ yrs. I'm going to confirm with my dentist, that I have seen since I was six years old, the major work that this dentist wants to do on me because I honestly don't feel that I need it.
I just literally had some major work done with them and when they were giving me the injection they hit a nerve in my jaw and I about jumped through the roof it hurts so bad! I've never had this happen to me before.
I don't know maybe it's just me and I hate the dentist but something just doesn't seem right. They give me another quote for almost $700 of work that needs to be done. They were pointing out discoloration of my teeth and that is the reason they need to do this major work otherwise I'm going to need a root canal if I don't get it done now. I kept telling them I'm juicing right now. I drink carrot juice, beet juice, etc. all mixed together which stain my teeth and fillings. The discoloration is not not from worsening or deterioration. Also, I'm getting Invisalign by another orthodontist and they want me to rescan my teeth and order more trays after they do the major work. (which Arroyo Dental quoted me $4000 for and I went to another orthodontist and they only charge me $2000) They're telling me I need the major work done now or I'm going to need a root canal!!! It's almost like they're trying to scare me into it. And my teeth are not even bothering me. I take very good care of them. Then when I went to check out and she gave me the breakdown of what everything is going to cost, she kept saying you need to get it done now before the end of the year otherwise it's going to cost you more money next year.
