  • I stayed here this past weekend for three nights with my friend and had a great experience. I can't comment on regular room pricing as I booked a package deal through Expedia that made my stay extremely reasonable. This was especially true considering the quality of accommodations as well as the amazing location and activities. Like any other hotel on the Strip, MGM Grand does have resort fees to the tune of about $35 a day. These aren't exactly fun to pay, but to me and my friend it was worth it to stay in the middle of the action rather than off-Strip. Check-in and check-out took all of 10 minutes total, and every employee we interacted with was very pleasant. We even got a complimentary upgrade to a slightly bigger room with two queen beds. I'm not exactly sure why - maybe the desk clerk was just in a good mood?! The room was decently sized and very clean. It seemed new and modern, almost like it had been renovated recently. The bathroom was larger than most. Wifi was free and pretty fast. You could realistically not leave the MGM and still have enough to do during a few days in Vegas! There's so much going on. You have Hakkasan (the nightclub and the restaurant), shows including Jabbawockeez, Ka, & David Copperfield, Brad Garrett's Comedy Club, the Wet Republic pool/dayclub, five other regular pools, a spa, and a gym. There might even be more that I forgot to list. There are also many other shops and restaurants just off the lobby outside of the casino. My friend and I liked the food court because it had fairly reasonably priced food, at least for Vegas. You can get lunch or dinner for around $10 per person, and while that's not the cheapest food in the world, it's some of the cheapest you're going to find anywhere near the Strip. (Hint: try to find a tray with a paper placemat thingy on it before you order. They have buy one meal, get one 50% off coupons printed on them!) And let's not forget Fat Tuesday, the infamous daquiri bar with those plastic cups the size of a toddler that you see everyone walking around with. (Another hint: get some Jello shots or slushies and have them before you go to the pool parties on the weekend so that you don't have to pay $30 for one drink! You'll thank me later.) I deducted one star because the walls are wafer thin. You can hear exactly what's going on in the rooms above and beside you. When someone is out in the hall talking, it sounds as if they are standing right next to your bed, which is obviously very inconvenient and frustrating when you're trying to get a good night's sleep. Further evidence that these walls are the equivalent of issue paper? There were a few times where my friend and I heard someone using their room key to enter a nearby room, and we could hear what was going on so well that it sounded like they were trying to come into our room, which was a bit scary. To sum it up, I would stay here again because the location is so great and my overall experience with the room and amenities was satisfying. I just plan to bring earplugs next time so that I don't get woken up every time someone has a conversation anywhere near my room.
