Travelodge, you used to be cool, man. I guess this brand that used to be reputable back in the 90s has lost its way. The desk clerk was surly and could not manage to program more than one working key card for the room. In the room, the toilet seat had at least 3 kinds of dried fluid and dirt on it. The light switch in the bathroom was smeared with something brown. The air conditioner struggled to get the room to a tolerable temperature. There was dirt on the bed sheets. The drop ceiling sagged from humidity and age, and the vomit-green walls were calling out in agony for a fresh coat of paint. The only good thing I can really say is I didn't see any bugs or evidence thereof and it's the cheapest place near the lake (but you can't even see the lake from the motel anyway so why bother). Oh, and checkout time is a nice leisurely noon, so it may be awful but at least you can stay for a long time!
