| - I hardly go out of my way to write bad reviews. I actually haven't posted with my Yelp account in over a year. But I had to get back on to warn you to stay away from this place! I'm stuck here for another 2 months, but definitely leaving once the lease is over. All interested buyers get the whole sales pitch with the fancy tour that, even I admit, at first glance is a beautiful place. And the staff seems super nice and caring. But they only care about you until you sign lease papers. Then you're all on your own.
To be honest, if I had written this review within the first few months of living here, I would have given it a 5 star review. Initially I had minor issues moving in. Light bulbs were dead, the included TV was broken, and some minor cosmetic issues. Which makes me seem to think that they don't fully inspect the place before deeming it move in ready. But they fixed all my issues within a couple days. It wasn't until my first important maintenance request a few months down the road, where I noticed how unresponsive and terrible the service of this place is. It took them 4 months to fix a crack on my guest toilet, which was causing water damage to the faux wood floors. Every time I followed up, they kept telling me it was being ordered. Which I thought was BS, because it doesn't take over a month to order a toilet. Second, it took 3 months to get my washing machine replaced because it wasn't fully draining water. So for those 3 months, it took me 2-4 hours to do a load of laundry as I had to run 'drain & spin' multiple times after the load was supposed to be done. Now, I am waiting for them to fix the holes that they made in my kitchen ceiling after the apartment upstairs started leaking water into my unit. This was 3 months ago. I've called, I've created a maintenance request on their website, and I've walked into the office to ask about it. I always get the whole, 'This is unacceptable, we'll take care of this ASAP' speech, but nothing ever happens. When I see the maintenance supervisor outside, I don't even have to ask him. He already knows that I'm waiting for them to fix it, so he gives me undelivered promises that it'll be done this week. Again, no one ever comes, no one ever calls. I gave up and I'll let them deal with it when I move out in February.
When I moved in, I knew a lot of the staff and they knew me by name. I've now seen the 3rd manager since my time here, and all the other employees have changed numerous times as well to where I don't even bother to get to know them because I might never see them again.
I have two dogs and go to the dog park at least 3 times a day. The first few months, it wasn't so bad. But it has gone way down since. It's bad residence who don't pick up after their dogs. But also bad management who don't empty out the trash, and also allow the dog crap to build up without cleaning. Their response in a newsletter about the overfilling trash cans was to find a less filled trash can, instead of just addressing the actual issue of having their staff empty it! Some idiot left broken styrofoam in the dog park a few days ago. And it's still there! No one from the staff has thought to clean it up, along with all the crap building up. What if dogs started eating that styrofoam. This place is absolutely gross!
As many others have complained, walls are thin. I had the luxury of living under a guy who always traveled so he was never home. I realized I took that for granted when some douchebag upstairs moved in and is always blasting music. Even in the morning when I'm sleeping, I can hear leaf blowers from the maintenance people outside. Also, as others have stated, there are cops here ALOT. One day was so bad from a supposed drug bust that they were there almost the entire evening. With the price of these apartments, you'd think that you'd be living with better/classier neighbors.
The unit itself isn't bad depending on which one you get. It's the same floor plan and design that a lot of other apartments have (Domain, Dream, Two One Five, etc). You may want to move to one of those similarly priced places instead, so you won't have to deal with the management here. I have the two bedroom unit with faux wood floors throughout, except for the bedrooms. Nest thermostat and Philips Hue lights were a nice surprise. But don't let them convince you with this fancy tech. It's not worth it. If you can pay $1300+ a month, then you can probably afford a Nest or Hue lights somewhere else and not have to deal with the BS at the Edge.
I'm not the only resident that knows how bad this place is. I see moving trucks all the time. And I am always curious if they're moving in. Sure enough, they're usually moving out. I walk my dogs and walk by many vacant apartments. The leasing lady up front even told me they'd negotiate my lease renewal for a lower price because she admitted they weren't doing well. I wouldn't stay if they gave me 50% off. Lease ends in 2 months. Can't come soon enough...
