If you are going to include 'Island' in your name, you better make us feel like we are on an island. Indeed that is what they have done. From the faux palms to the cartoonish waves and surfers, it was well decked out for a school play.
But that's not why I love this place. The one item that beats the competition is their teriyaki beef bowl. The beef is prepared so tender topped with their homemade teriyaki sauce. You can tell it had been braised for hours. When you can leave a memorable impression like that, you can Yelp about it later.
Their menu is focused on primarily meat and rice--just the way I like it! The lady behind the counter is so sweet and kind. This mom and pops is the type of place you come for those delicious cheap meal nights. No doubt I will make a return.
