I really appreciate this beautiful, clean, family friendly park directly in the heart of downtown Concord. I have been coming here with my nieces and nephews since they were small. I used to take walks with my late father here a few years back, and I walked my little dog happily on the trail here too. This park holds memories for me. I enjoy watching people create their own memories here too.
I see people having parties here or family reunions. I see people walking, holding hands on dates here. I see little ones having the time of their lives laughing in the playground, and I see people walking or running for exercise. I see people walking their dogs here too. For dog walkers, its great that the park provides bags to clean up after your pooch. Keeping the park pristine to maximize happy fun time :D
This park is large without being overwhelming. You can get lost in the beauty of nature here, but the greenway or paths are marked with helpful markers telling how far you've gone. All paths lead to the main parking lot, so you will never get lost.
Parking is rarely an issue. Safety has never been an issue for me either. It's not a hang out park. No basketball courts, and children are usually attended by parents here. The bathrooms and water fountains are typical. I tend to avoid both in any public park. I make no exceptions here either.
Side note: Micky and Ghee have direct slang meanings in Ireland. WHICH I will not relay ;) So many of my Irish EU friends back in Dublin have asked me for actual signs of the park entrance. It's a laugh.
Gotta give the park lots of stars! Besides being a great place, Micky McGhee park is making people laugh and smile 3000 miles from home.
