| - What a great spot! I went here for the first time with a friend who raves about this place, and she wasn't wrong.
I ordered a white and red flight so I could try as many different wines as possible. There wasn't a bad one in the bunch, but I was partial to the crisp 2012 and 2013 Sky Island wines (probably because they felt so refreshing on a warm Arizona day).
Peggy, the owner, skillfully walked us through how each wine was made and what techniques give the wines their unique characteristics. I am impressed with the wide range of tastes this vineyard achieves with their product.
My dining partner and I also shared a plate of cheeses and nibbles. There was a nice variety for us to munch on while we enjoyed our wines, including two meats, three or four cheeses, crackers, dried fruits and olives.
Overall, LDV's incredibly friendly owner, beautiful wines, and relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere make this a place I'll visit agains and again. It's a wonderful way to support Arizona businesses!
