So we decided on a last 'lil Hoo-Rah before the kids go back to school and since we haven't been to Vegas in like 8+ years, the flight is short and there is an abundance of stuff to do there...we book a trip. We booked a "getaway" with our timeshare company Interval International and get a one bedroom for a week at Tahiti Village for a ridiculiously low price. We arrive on a Tuesday night around 10:30 p.m. and the place is pretty quiet for Vegas. The resort is located about one mile south past Mandalay Bay.
I was very happy with our one bedroom. It had a full kitchen and one large bathroom with a steam shower. I didn't really like the steam shower, since it made me feel like I was showering in a cave, but the double sink and large bedroom made up for it.
The kids loved the pool with its beach entrance and lazy river! The weather was perfect for lounging in the pool all day. The only drawback of this very family friendly resort was I would have preferred that it was non-smoking. I did not care for the people smoking at the pool. Wasn't it hot enough outside already?
We never once got asked to sit for a timeshare and besides the occasional 2 a.m. drunk girl cackle that woke me up...it was a great hotel. Shuttles to and from the strip were on time, free and very convenient.
Thanks Tahiti Village!!!
