Ah, Venice.
With those two succinct words Indiana Jones perfectly captured the magic that is Venice, Italy. Though when I went some years ago I got an impression of melancholy. The once bustling city of romance and culture of yesteryear is mostly just a tourist Mecca now. One shop sells Murano glass. The next sells Venetian masks. Then you got a pizzeria. And that cycle of three just continues on down every street and walkway. I found Venice rather sad. Still, I am an idiot, so....you know.
Venetian - Las Vegas: now this is a place to make you happy!! Except the first time. First time I came with a girlfriend, two or three weeks after they first opened. The pool wasn't open. No restaurants were open. Saturday morning we get up and want to do vegas - the elevator doesn't work. Walk down 28 freaking flights of stairs!! I can laugh about it now!! It'll be a story to tell my grandkids. Or yelp friends, if I had any. They did knock off 50% of our bill, so I thought that was fair.
Anyways, definitely one of my favorite Hotel/Casinos to visit. The ambiance is just spectacular. It's first class all the way, baby!! The suites are cute and comfy. It's a little pricey but definitely worth it. The hotel has a lot to see and do in itself, plus it's right in the heart of the strip. You can't go wrong here!! They've worked out the kinks since their grand opening a decade plus ago!! ;)
