| - High Street is turning into the Hip Strip. Just north of the Loop 101 around 56th Street, a stones throw east of Desert Ridge is a cosmopoitan street illuminated by strands of clear bulbs strung from building to building. Good food and drink abound, tacos, wine, pizza, satisfying salads, all accented by a growing community of retail shops. It's also a great place to get cleaned up.
If you're ready to graduate from V's, this is your destination; Barbershop Jack. Craftsmanship with a pair of razor sharp scissor and magic with clippers. Maestro Marc was at the podium during my last visit and although he didn't have much to work with, he did a terrific job. The difference between an average haircut and a truly good haircut is about 15 minutes. Everytime I'm here, they typically take 25-30 minutes making sure the haircut is a work of art. These guys clearly believe that anything worth doing is worth doing well.
If you've come to expect a neck shave, a hot towel, and a shoulder massage, rest assured these are standard at Barbershop Jack. Need a cold beer or other refreshment? They'd love to wet your whistle. Shoe shine? Yes, please.
Looking to get hip on High Street? Barbershop Jack is stop number one.
