Even though Mesa's part of the greater Phoenix metro, a bastion of Mexican-American cooking in the Southwest, the city doesn't have as many good restaurants as you might otherwise expect. With as much Mexican food as there is to be found around here, I'm not even looking for a mind-blowing experience so much as I am just a solid place to get some tacos, and by that rubric Tosinos fits the bill. Open late, fast, and cheap. They've pared down the meat selection, so carnitas and carne asada are the deepest cuts you're going to find, but they're tender, juicy, and are offered in portions almost too big for the little three-inch tortillas. With a side of taquitos it hits the spot.
