| - I have to admit that, having been to Bacchanal buffet and finding it 5-Star excellent (and better than Bellagio's) on previous trips, I can't help but compare it to other buffets I try on the Strip. So with that in mind, I would say the Wicked Spoon rates about 3.75 stars...
For what you pay, Wicked Spoon is a good value. It's definitely a few giant steps up from many other resort buffets in town. Atmosphere is wonderful. Service is great. They labeled any dish containing nuts, which we appreciated since one in our party was allergic. We went once for brunch and once for dinner.
There are 6-7 different stations, most with decent food offerings. At breakfast, the made-to-order stuff was good. Plus, it's hard not to like unlimited bacon.
The meat carving station had a decent variety, but they didn't have normal prime rib. They use a different cut of beef, which tastes fine, but it's no prime rib. My kids and husband loved those beef slices with the creamy mashed potatoes. I liked the pasta and lamb lasagna at the Italian station. I'd suggest skipping most of the Asian food section as it was disappointing. Very dry sushi. At dinner, the made-to-order seafood (choice of scampi or bouillabaisse) was probably my favorite thing, followed by the little greek and caprese salads.
Dessert station had a nice selection. I found the taste to be hit or miss, but my husband really enjoyed all of the offerings he tried for dessert, especially the cheesecakes. I liked the gelato. I tried so many flavors.
Overall, I'd recommend this place as a good value. It's not my fave, but it's heads and shoulders above the buffets at places like Luxor or MGM Grand.
One note: Be aware. They remove the food and close the restaurant between lunch and dinner times.
